Evaluation of pediatric ophthalmic consultations in a tertiary care university hospital

Aim: To characterize the patient groups referred to ophthalmology clinic from pediatrics and determine frequency of findings.
 Material Method: The patients consulted Balıkesir University Eye Clinic by Pediatrics were evaluated retrospectively. Patients divided into rule-out ocular symptom groups. Reasons for consultation findings recorded.
 Results: mean age 116 included in study was 8.04±4.11 years. Of study, 75 (64.7%) 41 (35.3%) group. (54.7%) group those who applied headaches requested an examination fundus optic disc. Papilledema detected 7 (17.1%) with headache. group, 11 (26.8%) trauma, red eye, preseptal/orbital cellulitis. Preseptal cellulitis 4 (57.1%) Ocular 10 (91%) trauma. Conjunctivitis 9 (81.8%) eyes.
 Conclusion: In pediatric ophthalmic is mainly performed due rule-out. most common reason eye It crucial consult ophthalmologist performing vision a pediatrician terms early diagnosis treatment.
